The first fork in the road

Two ways to make coffee.
One right for you.

Read the beginner guide

Semi-automatic

Want the craft?

You grind, dose, pull the shot, and steam the milk. More control, more learning—and the grinder is a separate purchase.

See semi-auto picks

Fully automatic

Want the shortcut?

The machine grinds and brews for you; some models also froth milk. Faster mornings, fewer variables to manage.

Not sure yet?

Start with your daily drink.

If you mostly make lattes, a forgiving milk workflow may matter more than advanced shot control. If you drink espresso straight, give the grinder more attention.

Skip the rabbit hole.

Espresso is a system. A capable grinder and a machine that suits your routine will take you further than a machine with features you won’t use.

Quick answers to common questions

Do I need a separate grinder for espresso?

For a semi-automatic machine, usually yes. Espresso needs fine, repeatable adjustments; many general-purpose grinders don’t offer enough control. Fully automatic machines include a grinder.

Can I make milk drinks on the Bambino?

Yes. The standard Bambino has a manual steam wand. The Bambino Plus adds automatic milk texturing, while still letting you use a hands-on espresso workflow.

Are these hands-on product reviews?

No. Espressaroo is a buying guide built from published product specifications and workflow comparisons. We don’t claim lab tests or personal ownership. See how recommendations are chosen.

Will Amazon show the same price I saw somewhere else?

Not necessarily. Amazon prices, sellers, bundles, and stock can change. Our links open a product search so you can confirm the exact model and current listing before buying.
